Za’atar is zesty, floral, aromatic Middle Eastern spice blend with a nutty textural crunch. Usually eaten by dipping unleavened bread in olive oil and the spice, or baked onto bread as a paste, za’atar is high in antioxidants and vitamin D, making it a healthy, delicious snack.

Thyme, one of the main ingredients in this blend – and another name for za'atar in the Middle East – is given to Palestinian children before school to boost their intelligence.
